To be in developed country status , the workers must be well-paid . This will be the criteria for any possible price hikes . When the laborers are poorly paid , he hardly has any excess fund to spend let alone to buy any luxurious goods. A bus driver is paid S$2500 and above and after conversion it amounted to RM 6000 here . Thus his pay is more than a senior post G52 government servant . A fresh graduate in Malaysia is paid RM 2000 and this will amount to S$800 . See for yourselves , The policy makers should question the employers here , why the workers here were paid lowly compared with their counterparts in Singapore ? That is the reason why so many Malaysians have to travel across to earn a living and will never seek a job here as the pay can't possibly support his daily food and lodging? It is not that they are not patriotic but rather the pay here can't support their livelihoods.
