22 colleges failed to get elevated to varsity level
KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-two colleges failed to get their status upgraded to private institutions of higher learning (varsity level) after approval for this was revoked, said Deputy Higher Education Minister DatukSaifuddin Abdullah.He said the revocations were made under subsection 54(1) of the Private Higher Education Institutions Act 1996, adding that this brought the total number colleges that failed to get the same elevation since 2007 to 78. Those who obtained varsity status doesn't seem to provide quality education as well. Can MoHE revoke their university status?
